Drank a solid tablespoon of this and sat at my desk to work and it feels kinda like I took an Adderall. But, not in a bad jittery way... in a super focused energized way. Shits cray.

Cacao

Cacao is Mud's most abundant ingredient both for its flavor and effect. Cacao was worshiped by the Mayans, fueled the daily diet of the Aztecs, and has been labeled the "food of the gods" by many subsequent cultures. It makes sense, because it tastes good, improves mood, increases alertness, enhances performance, and strengthens your immunity. When selecting Mud's base ingredient no other substance was more fitting.

BENEFITS

Theobromine which is a mild stimulant distinct from caffeine which provides the lion’s share of chocolate’s kick and energizes without greatly activating the central nervous system the way the former does.

Tryptophan which releases the feel-good neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain.

Phenylethylamine which releases norepinephrine, which increases excitement, alertness, and decision-making abilities, and dopamine, which releases endorphins (natural painkillers) and heightens mood.

Flavonoids which improve blood flow to the heart and brain, prevent clots, improve cardiac health, and act as anti-inflammatories.

Masala Chai

Our founder lived in India for some time and fell in love with the tradition and benefits of Masala Chai. Chai is a blend of ingredients like naturally brewed and flash-dried black tea powder and 100% Certified Organic powdered spices: ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves. With just enough caffeine to induce alertness, numerous benefits, and a complex flavor profile that rivals coffee - chai is what gives mud it's soul.

BENEFITS

With 1/8th the caffeine found in coffee, chai gives one energy and alertness without the jitters.

Ginger, cloves, and black pepper have antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties to help fight off colds and infections.

Ginger, tulsi, clove and cardamom aids in your ability to digest food.

Chaga

Chaga is a mushroom that grows on birch trees and looks almost identical to the bark that it grows on. Eastern Cultures have been drinking chaga for centuries for its overall benefits and soothing properties. We added Chaga to mud because we loved the tradition and benefits to your immunity and mood.

Beta-D-Glucans help moderate the immune system response.

Polysaccharides provide energy and mood enhancement.

Polyphenols in high amounts give Chaga the highest antioxidant potency of any superfood.

Reishi

Reishi was added to support your health and immunity. This mushroom has been used in Chinese medicine for over 2000 years and is commonly called the “king of mushrooms” for its adaptogen qualities like helping the body deal with the negative effects of stress and inflammation. Studies have shown that compounds like polysaccharides found in Reishi strengthen the immune system, heal allergies, and even help fight off disease.

Polysaccharides and triterpenes which help fight off tumor and cancer growth.

Adaptogens which help with liver function and strengthen the digestive system.

Turmeric

Turmeric is one of the most lauded compounds on the planet. Used in foods and drinks across the globe throughout history for it’s color, flavor, and benefits on the body and mind - it was an obvious addition to mud. The benefit we were most interested in was it’s anti-inflammatory properties. A natural by-product of exerting one’s self physically or mentally is stress. Stress causes inflammation and inflammation causes bad things. Turmeric has been used as a powerful anti-inflammatory in Chinese and Indian medicine for millennia. Yep, we’ll take it.

BENEFITS

Curcumin contains proven effects that are comparable to over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications.

Reduced joint pain, swelling and increased range of motion.

Supports collagen synthesis rates which increase wound contraction and tissue strength. Yup, it heals you.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a spice that has been used medicinally for thousands of years… Something you’ll hear often around here. Primarily cinnamon was added for taste, but nothing in Mud is added for taste alone. Cinnamon contains phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and antioxidants that make it one of the most beneficial spices on the planet. It’s anti-diabetic, anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory while being pro-damn-tasty. Mud is sugar free and cinnamon helps you fight off sugar cravings to keep you making better food choices throughout the day.

BENEFITS

High source of antioxidants.

Contains Anti-inflammatory Properties.

Helps Fight Diabetes.

Helps Defend Against Cognitive Decline.
